I was consulted to provide art for set decoration to be used in a new Bruce Willis/Mischa Barton film called THE SOPHOMORE...

I've kept the whole situation under wraps for many weeks now, but there are finally some onset photos being released. I hope to have some production stills soon from scenes that feature my art.

So yes, for now all I have is a picture of an actress eating an ice cream treat... but it makes me smile.

Charissa, Tiffany, and Carrie

Charissa, Tiffany, and Carrie

We got to stay together at an absolutely beautiful house with a very nice couple living there. I wish I had taken pictures of the house. It was decorated in a country cottage style, and had all kinds of sturdy Amish furniture and big fluffy quilts and plush flowery sofas, and roosters in the kitchen. When we went to bed that night, we discovered that Mrs. S. had put a little gift bag in our rooms for each of us, and they were full of chocolates and other goodies. Carrie and I were rooming together, and when we discovered our goodies and had squealed sufficiently, I said that Charissa should be joining us from her room any minute. Because she loves chocolate just as much as I do. And she did - she came in with the Charissa scream, and cried, "Chocolate!!!" It was quite delightful. And Mrs. S. also left a basket full of Mary Kay things (everything from perfume to lotion to eye-makeup remover) in the bathroom and told us to help ourselves! She served us a breakfast of egg casserole, sausage, bacon, bread, and fruit salad. Delicious. She was really a model hostess - very gracious and made us feel SO welcome!

The picture says it all! What is not to like? The whole porch was decorated with vintage wicker and junk castoffs. I especially love the corbels and old lanterns as well as the galvanized tub full of flowers. The contrast of textures and colors is just amazing.

Panoramic view.

The Palau Reial de Pedralbes (Pedralbes royal palace) is a building placed in the middle of an ample garden in the district of Les Corts, in Barcelona. From 1919 until 1931 it was the residence for the Spanish Royal Family when they visited the city. It houses the Museu de la Ceramica (ceramic museum) and Museu d'Arts Decoratives (interior design museum).

The palace has its origins in the old Masia (farmer's house) de Can Feliu, from
the XVII century. The corresponding land was adquired by the count Eusebi Guell,,
along with the neighbouring Can Cuias de la Riera. Together they formed the Finca
Guell, an extensive parcel of land (30,000 m2). The Can Feliu building was remodeled
by the architect Joan Martorell i Montells, who built a Caribbean-style small palace,
together with a Gothic-style chapel and surrounded by magnificent gardens. Later the house remodeling was given to Antoni Gaudi, together with the construction of a surrounding perimeter wall and the side entry pavilions.
Gaudi also partially designed the gardens surrounding the palace, placing two fountains
and a pergola and planted many Mediterranean plants like palm trees, cyprus, magnolias
pine trees and eucalyptus. The Font d'Hercules (Hercules fountain) still exists today on
site, restored in 1983; it has a but of Hercules on top of a pillar with Catalonia's shield
and a cannon in the shape of a Chinese-style dragon.
Eusebi Guell gave the house and garden to the Royal family, as a thank you for his
noble title of Count given to him, in 1918. The house was then remodeled to become a royal palace.
The work was done from 1919 to 1924 by the architects Eusebi Bona and Francesc Nebot.
The palace is formed by a central building four stories high, with a chapel on the back
side and two three stories high side wings that form a curve with the front facade towards
the front. The outside facade is done in the Noucentista movement style with Tuscan-style
columns forming two porches, with round arches and medallions and jars on the top. The
interior of the building is of many styles both in decoration as in furniture, going from
Luis XIV style to contemporary styles.
The gardens were designed by Nicolau Maria Rubio i Tuduri, from a design
that included, in a geometrically decorative area, lots of the trees already present,
a pond with many decorative elements, Gaudi's fountain, bamboo benches, three lighted fountains by Carles Buigas, the same designer of the Magic Fountain in Montjuic and many statues such is the one of Queen Isabel II with her son Alfons XII on the front of the palace, a work of Agapit Vallmitjana.
In 1924 it was officially made a royal palace but, with the Republic's proclamation in 1931, it became property of the city government, which decided to make it a decorative arts museum, inaugurated in 1932. During Franco's regime it was made into a residence for Franco. In 1990 the Museu de Ceramica was moved there.

Vase Reclining, As Though Pornographically ;)

My boyfriend asked me to photograph this vase so he could sell it on E-bay. I am a beginning photographer with a not-so-great camera and have had trouble making a flattering shot of this vase. Really glad I haven't broken the vase (very expensive, crafted by some independent crystal master, Pepi Hermann, who is about to die, so the vase is very, whatever, "collectible.")

our new vase from CB2. It has a little hole in the back so you can hang it on the wall. It is currently holding some pussywillow from the backyard.
